Clara Sophia Myhre

Clara Sophia Myhre, 79, of Spring Grove, died Sunday April 21, 2002 at Green Lea Manor in Mabel.

Clara was born July 20, 1922 in rural Spring Grove to John and Marie (Karlsbraaten) Asleson. She was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident. She attended Spring Grove Public High School. In August of 1940 she married Carlton M. Myhre in Waukon. He died January 2, 1969. She farmed with her husband in Wilmington Twp. until his death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove and a former member of Wilmington Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Trinityís womenís groups and a member of the Sons of Norway.

Survivors include her daughter Cathy (David) Holzwarth of Mabel, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son John, her sisters Gina Johnson, Olga Trimble, Melia Nelson and one brother James Asleson.

Services will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with Pastor Zane Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Old Wilmington Church Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and Thursday from 12-1 pm at the church.
