Mabel Omodt
Mabel Annette Omodt, 91, of Spring Grove, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Gundersen/Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. She was born August 13, 1910, in Spring Grove to Helmer and Christina (Lien) Storlie. She attended rural schools in Houston County. Mabel married Oliver Omodt on May 1, 1928 and he died in 1969.
She was a lifelong area resident. Mabel enjoyed taking care of her house and family and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
Mabel is survived by two daughters, Clarice Gjere, Spring Grove and Lyla (Walter) Steele of Decorah, IA; one son, Milford, Spring Grove; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son Harold Omodt, one son-in-law, Jerome Gjere, one brother, Lester Storlie and one sister, Hazel Omodt.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 3 at 1:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Jim Arends will officiate. Friends called Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
