Legion Boys State is chosen

Junior Adam Kruse was chosen as the alternate.

The boys are sponsored by the American Legion in Caledonia.

James is the son of Dr. Alan and Vanessa Fleischmann of Caledonia and Paul is the son of Cheryl and Allen Whitesitt of Brownsville.

Adam is the son of Denise Duss and Lawrence Kruse.

Boys State will be held on the campus of St. Johnís University, Collegeville, Minnesota from June 9-15, 2002.

The individuals were selected base on their G.P.A., 3.4 or above, and on an essay explaining why they want to go to Boys State.

Legion Boys State will be a practical learning experience in local and state government. They will be encouraged through participationtoward a better civic behavior and appreciation of the democratic ideals.

Legion Boys State was first held in Minnesota in 1948 with 169 boys attending. Last year there were 443 Boys Staters on the St. Olaf College campus.
