Man sentenced for terroristic threats & damage to propertyPosted: 4/30/02 By Shannon McKinney Thomas Alvin Monson, 21, of Spring Grove, was convicted and sentenced on April 15, to 10 months in the Houston County jail for making terroristic threats and first degree criminal damage to property, both felonies. The conviction stems from an incident that occurred at his residence on January 12, 2001 at 3:30 a.m. According to his testimony, Monson said the incident occurred when he discovered Brian Goetzinger, parked in a vehicle in his driveway. Monson said he stabbed the hood of Goetzingerís car with a knife after the person began rolling the vehicle into his leg. He then grabbed a paint ball gun and fired it at the car after it was backing up to leave. Monson said, ìWell, it backed up and stopped and waited a second and then I fired it because it wasnít going anywhere.î Monson was ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution for damage to the vehicle, to attend an anger management program and receive a chemical dependency and mental health evaluation.
