Clarice Gjere, 71
Clarice Turene Gjere, 71, of Spring Grove, died suddenly at her home on Thursday, August 8, 2002. She was born on July 19, 1931, in Spring Grove Hospital to Oliver and Mabel (Storlie) Omodt. She was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident and attended Spring Grove High School. On June 24, 1953, she married Jerome (Jerry) Gjere and he died October 23, 1983.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove and its womenís groups, a homemaker and she and her husband were past members of the Old Style Auto Club.
Clarice is survived by four sons: Arden (Linda), Decorah, IA, David (Pam), La Crescent, Ronnie (Sharrie), and Dan (Jody), both of Spring Grove; two grandchildren; one brother, Milford Omodt, Spring Grove; one sister, Lyla (Walter) Steele, Decorah, IA; and her special friend, Clifford Moger, Lanesboro.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Omodt.
Services were held Sunday, August 11, 1 pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Zane Anderson officiated. Friends called Saturday from 2-5 pm at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.
