Posted: 12/10/02 Lillie TraffLillie Lisetta Traff, 90, of Austin died Thursday, December 5, 2002, at Austin Medical Center. She was born August 26, 1912 in Caledonia, MN, to Gustav and Methilda (Kruse) Schroeder. She attended Houston County District #50 School and was married to Emil Joseph Traff on March 29, 2002, at Eitzen. Lillie worked as a cook for many years at the Austin Country Club and Tollyís Time Out. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and crocheting, playing cards with her family, watching hockey and baseball. She was a member of St. Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church and active in the Ladies Aid. Survivors include a son, Lester (Barbara), Austin; daughters, Norma (William) Bray, Austin, Leona (John) Detwiler, Austin, Gloria, Ft. Collins, CO; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Schroeder, Caledonia; sisters, Ella Meiners, Caledonia, and Amanda Olson, Caledonia; sisters-in-law, Helen Schroeder, Caledonia, Lillian Bresau, La Crosse, WI, Phyllis Traff, La Crescent, and Evelyn (Donald) Kessel, La Crosse. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Arnold Schroeder; sister, Clara Pohlman; great-grandchildren, James Bray, Jakob Detwiler, and Thad Holtz; nephews Kurt Corcoran and Kenneth Traff; and brothers-in-law. Services were held Monday, December 9 at 1 p.m. at St. Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church, Austin with Pastor Ted Barthels officiating. Interment was in the Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
