Howard C. Rask

Howard C. Rask, 95, Rochester, MN died Thursday, December 19, 2002 at Samaritan Bethany Heights due to complications from cancer.

He was born August 19, 1907 near Caledonia. He lived in the Caledonia area until moving to Rochester in 1928. He married Genevieve Townsend on August 27, 1931 in Dysart, IA.

He was a special education teacher at Rochester High School from 1928 until 1943; then Principal at Lincoln School in Rochester from 1945 until 1960 and then Principal at Elton Hills School from 1960 until 1972. He was Past Commander of American Legion, a member of Retired Teacherís Association and Sons of Norway. He was also a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and a WWII veteran.

He is survived by two sons; David (Helen) Rask of Bismarck, ND, and Stephen Rask (William Dupps) of Rockport, MA; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his wife; one sister; and one uncle.

Services were held Monday, December 23 at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester. Reverend Kevin Schill officiated. Burial was at the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
