Lester Oefstedahl

Lester William Oefstedahl, 87, of Spring Grove, died Sunday, December 1, 2002, at Gundersen/Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. He was born August 7, 1915, in Houston County, MN, to Peter and Inger (Bjertness) Oefstedahl. He was a lifelong area resident and attended rural schools. In October of 1939 he married Olive Kroshus and she preceded him in death on November 2, 1995. The couple farmed in Winneshiek County, IA, until retiring and moving into Spring Grove.

Lester was a member of Highland Lutheran Church in rural Spring Grove.
Survivors include two sons: Larry (Barbara), Rochester, and Bob (Candy), Spring Grove; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Betty in 1992, four brothers and five sisters.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Highland Lutheran Church in rural Spring Grove. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Spring Grove with Pastor David Andreae officiating. Friends called Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
