James Orlando ìButchî Schansberg, 95, of Spring Grove, died Saturday, February 9, 2002, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove. He was born October 18, 1906 in Spring Grove, to Christ and Bertha (Rauk) Schansberg. James was a lifelong Spring Grove resident and never married. He worked at the Meat Market and the Creamery many years ago, and was remembered for his beautiful singing voice and outgoing personality. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. James is survived by one niece, Kathryn (Daniel) Kuehn of Arden Hills; two grand-nephews, Jason Kuehn and Adam Kuehn; one grand-niece, Kelsey Kuehn; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Moe. Services will be held Saturday, February 16, at 1 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with Pastor Zane Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.
