Precinct caucuses are March 5

Precinct caucuses, the very first step in the political process, will take place Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. State law requires that no events be scheduled after 6 p.m. on that evening in order to afford all residents an opportunity to participate.

Democrat-Farmer-Labor

The county DFL precinct caucuses are at Spring Grove High School Cafeteria for residents of Spring Grove City and the townships of Black Hammer and Wilmington. The Caledonia High School cafeteria is the caucus site for residents of Caledonia city and township; Brownsville city and township; Eitzen; and the townships of Crooked Creek, Jefferson, Winnebago, Sheldon and Mayville.

The Houston High School library is the site for residents of Houston city and township; Mound Prairie, Money Creek and Yucatan townships.

For residents of La Crescent city and township, the caucus site is the new gym at La Crescent High School.

Residents of Hokah city and township and Union township may attend the DFL caucus at the Hokah Learning Center.

Delegates will be selected to attend the Houston County convention March 16.

Independent-Republican

The I-R caucus will convene at the Caledonia Elementary School Media Center for residents of Caledonia city and township; Eitzen; and the townships of Mayville, Crooked Creek, Winnebago and Jefferson.

La Crescent city and township voters may attend the I-R caucus at the La Crescent High School Cafeteria.

The Hokah Community Center will be the I-R caucus site for residents of Hokah city and township; Brownsville city and township, and Union township.

Residents of Houston city and township, and the townships of Mound Prairie, Yucatan, Money Creek, and Sheldon, can attend the Republican caucus at Houston High School.

The caucus location for Spring Grove city and township residents and residents of Black Hammer and Wilmington townships is the Spring Grove High School Media Center.

Independent Party
