Marlin Schulze

Marlin E. Schulze died Thursday, January 17, 2002. He was born on September 9, 1931 in Caledonia, MN to Elvin and Emma (Ranzenerger) Schulze. He was baptized at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Caledonia.

Marlin was drafted into the U.S. Army in December 1952 and served during the Korean Conflict. His ordinance unit traveled to England and then to Germany. After his discharge from service in November 1955, he returned to work on the family farm until moving his family to La Crosse in November of 1959.

He worked for awhile as auto mechanic and then later at Northern Engraving at Sparta, WI from 1963 to 1997 and retired due to health reasons.

Marlin is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathleen (Paggi/DeLap) Schulze; four sons, Duane (Patricia), La Crosse, Jerry (Shelly), La Crosse, Douglas (Marjie), Puyallup, WA, and Robert (Tina), Savage; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; stepsons and families, Ronald (Vickie) DeLap, La Crosse, Jerry (Judy) DeLap, La Crosse; brothers, Gerald Schulze and friend Kathy, Oak Creek, WI, Lawrence (Betty) Schulze, La Crosse; sisters, Gladys (Edward) Vetsch, Winona, Evelyn (Lee) Denstad, Caledonia; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Services were held Monday, January 21, 11 am, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse, with Rev. Richard Pamperin officiating. Entombment with military honors was held in Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum in Woodlawn Cemetery.
