Suspects identified in string of burglariesPosted: 1/16/02 By Shannon McKinney Police recently cleared up 15 burglaries that occurred in the last two months due to a multi-jurisdictional investigation. Four individuals, ages 16 and 17, are said to be involved in the burglaries. Names will be made public once complaints are filed by the county attorney. There were five burglaries on December 22 in The Redwood Cafe, Green Power Implement, Kraus Oil & Country Store, Good Times Restaurant & Bar and Starlite Bowling Center in Caledonia, three in Houston at Kenís Repair Shop, Houston High School and ClassCycle Bikes on December 15, one at Hokah Coop in Hokah, three in Winona and two in Rushford. The investigation was conducted after the Houston County Sheriffís Office and the Houston Police Department received information about the burglaries. The Caledonia Police Department, Hokah Police Department, Rushford Police Department and the Winona County Sheriffís Office also became involved in the investigation. Some money and property were recovered, including a snowmobile, sporting equipment and clothing. Along with Houston County, reports are being turned over to Fillmore County and Winona County for formal charges to be filed against the suspects. Police seek information on church burglary The Houston County Sheriffís Office is asking for information regarding the theft of a Yamaha Clavinova Keyboard (piano) and an ElectroVoice microphone, Model BK-1. The theft occurred at the Wilmington Lutheran Church in Wilmington Township between the hours of 3 p.m. Saturday, January 5, and 8 a.m. Sunday, January 6. If anyone has information about this burglary/theft, they can contact the Houston County Sheriffís Department Crime Stoppers Program at 507-725-5122. Callers will remain anonymous.
