Bob Lager

Bob Lager, 46, a resident of Royalton, MN, died Thursday, December 27, 2001, at his residence.

Bob J. Lager was born on August 21, 1955 in Caledonia to Robert (Corky) Lager Jr. and Lorraine (Kragness) Lager. He grew up on a beef farm in Caledonia. He graduated from Caledonia High School in the spring of 1973. Bob married Chris Smieja on September 2, 1978 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. Bob and Chris have two children, Angie and Bo, who both live at home. Bob always loved working with trucks and vehicles of all kinds. He was especially proud of starting and developing Lager Truck Service, in which he owned and operated. Bob loved living in the country and spending time with his family.

He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, deer hunting, farming and drag racing. He liked to spend time at home enjoying the nature that the 160 acres he owned provided.

Bob is survived by his wife; two children, Bo Lager and Angie Lager, Royalton; his father, Robert (Corky) Lager Jr. and his mother, Lorraine Lager of Winona; his grandmother, Marian (Donahue) Lager, Caledonia; brothers, Gary Lager (Yvonne), North Mankato, and Mark (Sonia) Lager, Lakeville; sister, Sharon (Brice) Medin, Amery, WI; father-in-law, Ralph and mother-in-law, Marian (Zimmerman) Smieja, Royalton; sister-in-law, Sandy (Paul) Tiemann, Royalton; five nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, December 29, 11 am, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton with Father Laurn Virnig officiating. Burial was in Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery, Royalton. Visitation was 4-9 pm on Friday, December 28, at the Brenny-Karlinski Funeral Home in Royalton with a rosary at 4:30 pm and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
