Marcia A. Weichert

Marcia A. Weichert, 51, of Fairmont, MN, died Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2002 at the Fairmont Medical Center-Mayo Health System.

Marcia Ann Bursell was born on August 11, 1950 in Fairmont to Marlin and Mary (Dyslin) Bursell. She attended school in Truman and graduated from Truman High School in 1968. She went on to Northwestern School of Nursing and graduated in 1971. She worked at the Crestview Nursing Home in Fairmont for a short time before working at the Lutz Wing of the Fairmont Community Hospital. She was baptized and confirmed on April 2, 1994 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Marcia was united in marriage to Thomas P. Weichert on September 17, 1994 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. She retired at the Lutz Wing of the Fairmont Community Hospital as the Director of Nursing in 2001 after working there twenty-nine years. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, State Board of Nursing (MN DONA), National Association Directors of Nursing (NN DONA/LTC) and the Martin County Conservation Club. Marcia enjoyed flower gardens with roses, walks with her dog, fishing and camping, crocheting, knitting and bird watching.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Weichert of Fairmont; five step sons, Thomas (Toby) C. (Elvira) Weichert of Fairmont, Scott (Danielle) Weichert of Lakewood, Colorado, Brian Weichert and Michael Weichert, both of St. Cloud, Matthew Weichert of Fairmont; father, Marlin Bursell (Norma) of Truman; mother, Mary Bursell and her special frien d, Bob Lemkee, of Truman; one brother, John Bursell of Truman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Greg (Angela) Weichert of Virginia, Mary (Leo) Daley of Caledonia, Paul (Rose) Weichert of Caledonia, Jim (Jennifer) Weichert of Mendota Heights, Mark (Donna) Weichert of Caledonia, Theresa Weichert of Minneapolis, many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by one brother, Jim Bursell.

Services are today, Wednesday, January 9, at 10:30 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Richard Loomis officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Fairmont.

Visitation was held 4-7 pm, Tuesday, January 8, with a parish prayer service at 7 pm, at the Lakeview Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
