Rita Klug

Rita McGinnis Klug, 78, of Caledonia, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, WI. She was born May 6, 1924, in Caledonia to James F. and Martha (Schmitt) McGinnis. Rita graduated from Loretto High School, Caledonia, in 1942. She married Paul William Klug September 22, 1945 at Alameda Naval Air Station, CA. He preceded her in death August 19, 1969.

Rita enjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling. She was a good friend, neighbor and whistler.

She is survived by her five children: Jerry (Susie) Klug, Rosemount, Jane (Ivan) Fernandez, Salem, OR, Bonnie (Terrance) Twite, Dodge Center, Barbara (Jeff) Klug of Minneapolis, and Bill (Sue) Klug of La Crosse, WI; extraordinary friend, Eunice Dahlberg of Caledonia; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Rev. Joseph McGinnis, Wabasha, Mary McGinnis, Caledonia, John (Virgie) McGinnis, Fargo, ND, Al (Maureen) McGinnis, Winona, Bob (Shirley) McGinnis, Austin, Bill (Darlene ) McGinnis, San Jose, CA and Sister Martha Ann McGinnis, Rochester; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James McGinnis.

Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 am, Wednesday, July 31, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Father Thomas Jennings and Father Joseph McGinnis will officiate. Friends called from 4-8 pm Tuesday at Holy Family Hall, St. Maryís School, Caledonia, where a scripture service was at 7:30 pm. Friends may also call from 10 to 11 am Wednesday morning at the church before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, is assisting the family with arrangements.
