Filing still open for county offices

Only two people so far are challenging incumbents in five county races that will be on the ballot this fall.
Larry Connery, Houston, has filed against incumbent Kevin Kelleher in District 2.
In the sheriffís race, Randy Shefelbine has filed to run against incumbent Mike Lee.
David Corcoran, District 4 , has filed for reelection with no challengers thus far.
Other incumbents who have filed include Audrey Petersen, county treasurer; Beverly Bauer, county recorder; and Pete Johnson, county auditor. As of Monday afternoon, no one had filed for the office of county attorney held by Richard Jackson. Filing is open until July 16.
