Otto W. Von Arx, 91, of Houston, MN, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, MN. He was born September 26, 1910, in Mound Prairie, MN, to William J. and Emma (Langen) Von Arx. He married Marjorie McGrath in July, 1954, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in La Crosse. He operated Midwest Liquor Store in La Crosse. Otto enjoyed bowling and checkers. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; four sisters, Marguerite (Les) Sheehan, Hokah, Helen Hoskins, Hokah, Dolores (Don) Benz, Portland, OR, and Rita Hayes, Burnsville; three brothers, Joseph Von Arx, La Crescent, Francis (Frances) Von Arx, Hokah, and William (Theodora) Von Arx, Caledonia; four sisters-in-law, Betty Von Arx and Rita Von Arx, both of Hokah, Jean Von Arx, Minneapolis, and Elizabeth ìLizî Von Arx, Caledonia; a brother-in-law, Frank McGrath; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Bernice Cavanaugh, and five brothers, Alfred, Walter, George, Paul and Jacob; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in law. A Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 am, Tuesday, June 11, at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, La Crosse, with Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Entombment was held in St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum at the Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family called on Tuesday, from 9 am until the time of services at the church.
