Lorraine Fink

Lorraine V. Fink, 78, of New Albin, Iowa, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility, LaCrosse. She was born August 24, 1923, in Westby, WI to Selmer and Millie (Blihovde) Virak. On December 19, 1942, Lorraine married Harris C. ėShookyî Fink in Chicago. They lived in Chicago until 1957 when they moved to New Albin.

Lorraine worked as a waitress in Chicago and then in New Albin. She also spent time helping Shooky with his love for baseball. Lorraine enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards, visiting with people, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (John) Breeser of New Albin; two sons, Jerome (Carol) Fink of LaCrosse, and Dana (Marcia) Fink of Perry, Iowa; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Evelyn Arentz of Eau Claire, WI, Minnie Pafford of Valencia, CA, and Beverly Opperud of Viroqua, WI.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband on October 20, 1988; her parents; a granddaughter, Christine Fink; two sisters, her twin sister, Lavina ėLollyî Roth, and Minerva Scott; and two brothers, Chester and Marvin Virak.

Services were Tuesday, June 18, at 10 am, at Grace United Methodist Church, New Albin. Pastor Keith Putney officiated with burial in the New Albin City Cemetery. Friends called at the New Albin Townhouse and Chapel on Monday from 4-7 pm and at the church on Tuesday from 9 am until the time of service. The Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, was in charge of arrangements.
