Wallace ģWallyī Hahn
Wallace ģWallyī G. Hahn, 78, of Houston, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died at his home on Saturday, June 22, 2002, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 7, 1923, to William and Alvina (Ellefson) Hahn. Wally served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a mechanic at many locations, including Loerch Implement in Houston. Wally married Carol Erickson on November 6, 1948. The couple shared 53 years of marriage.
Wallyķs interests included carpentry, gardening, fishing, and hunting.
Wally is survived by his wife, Carol; 11 children: Caryn (Butch) Kohnen, Caledonia, Barbara (Allen) Erickson, Lanesboro, Marshall Hahn, Michael (Anita) Hahn, Rhonda (David) Betz, Darrel (Jeannie) Hahn, all of Spring Grove, Linda (David) Hazelton, Winona, Gregory (Jill) Hahn, Gordon Hahn, Scott (Audrey) Hahn all of Caledonia, and Duane (fianceČ Valerie Vaaler), Houston; 23 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey Welsh and Florence (James) Gjere, both of Beloit, WI; one brother, Calvin Hahn of Stoughton, WI; a sister-in-law, Gloria Erickson of Houston; brother-in law, Dick (Sonja) Erickson of Houston; and many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Tom Welsh of Beloit.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Ellsworth Erickson, son-in-law, and a grandson.
Services will be at 11 am on Thursday, June 27, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Lane Zaffke officiating. Burial of Wallyķs cremated body will follow in the Yucatan Cemetery, rural Houston. Friends may call from 5-8 pm on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
