Duane ėDeweyî Doering

Duane C. ėDeweyî Doering, 72, of Caledonia, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse, WI. He was born August 24, 1929, in Caledonia, one of seven children to Chester and Sena (Nerison) Doering. On December 18, 1954, he married Darlene Ann Wiebke and together they had five children. Duane graduated from Winona State University in 1969 with a B.S. degree in business administration. He went on to manage several restaurants during his business career in the central Wisconsin area.

Duane spent the final 17 years of his career at The Indianhead Golf Course in Mosinee, WI, where he served as general manager. He moved back to Caledonia in February of 2000. Duane was a very outgoing person and enjoyed good conversation and always a good joke. He was an avid reader with a wide variety of interest. Geography and cooking books were among his favorites. Duane was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed traveling out west and fishing. He especially enjoyed family reunions and visiting with family and friends. Duane will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his former wife, Darlene of Winona; five children, Jackie Jacquin, Stevens Point, WI, Michael (Gail), Winona, Todd (Joleen), Burnsville, Tami Doering, Winona, and Lance (Tami), Antigo, WI; 11 grandchildren; his mother, Sena Doering, Caledonia; one sister, Sandra Johnson, La Crosse; three brothers, Loren (Janice), Caledonia, Stanley (Rosalie), La Crescent, and Chester, Caledonia; many nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Benji, Vinny and Milan.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Donald and Robert, and a son-in-law, Dennis Jacquin.

Services were held Sunday, March 10, 2 pm, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia with the Rev. Rolf Storlie officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends called at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Sunday from 1 pm until the time of service.

Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, was in charge of arrangements.
