Enoh Anderson

Enoh Moran Anderson, 81, of Spring Grove, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born December 18, 1920 in Spring Grove, to Elvin and Mollie (Roverud) Anderson. He attended rural school in Blackhammer, rural Spring Grove. On February 22, 1947, he married Lila Rauk at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. The couple farmed until 1950 and then moved into Spring Grove.

Enoh was employed by the Spring Grove Lumber Company from 1950 to 1959. He then became co-owner of the Spring Grove Builders, Inc., with Leland Morken and Loren Reed, this company dissolved in 1972. He then became an employee of Gulbranson Lumber Company. In 1976, he became sole owner of E.M. Anderson Lumber Company and later took his sons in the company with him.

He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on several of its commissions. He was a past member of Spring Grove Commercial Club, a Spring Grove volunteer fire fighter for 29 years and was its Chief at the time he retired from the organization. Enoh had a great love for horses and had given many wagon and sleigh rides. Other hobbies included dancing and card playing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was never happier than when he had his family around him.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Gaylord L. and Bruce L. (Kathy) Anderson, both of Spring Grove; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Idella Prikryl, Dollar TX; a sister-in-law, Betty Anderson, Auburn; as well as nieces and nephews.

Enoh was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Arnold M. Anderson and one sister, Elida Burtness.

Services were held Friday, March 15, 11 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Jim Arends officiated. Friends called Thursday, 5-7 pm, at the Roble Funeral Service in Spring Grove and at the church on Friday from 10-11 am.
