Leve G. Johnsrud, 89, of Spring Grove, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove. She was born January 31, 1913, in Fargo, ND, to John and Louise (Jensen) Flatten. She lived for a short time in Prairie Farm, WI, and then grew up in Yucatan and Sheldon, Minnesota. Leve was united in marriage to Harold M. Johnsrud on June 3, 1931 in Spring Grove, MN. The couple farmed in Wilmington Township for many years, and later lived in Minneapolis where her husband was an electrician. After retirement, they moved back to Spring Grove, and spent the winters in Arizona. Leve was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove and its womenís groups. She loved the Lord and was an avid life long learner. She loved to read and seek new knowledge. She enjoyed her many friends and family, her grandchildren gave her great joy. Leve is survived by her three sons, Harlan (Sandy) Johnsrud of Austin, Howard Johnsrud of Minneapolis, and Steven Johnsrud of Jamestown, CA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Thelma Leine of Northfield, Pearl Armanine of Stockton, CA, Lillian Bowell of St. Paul, and June Lambert also of St. Paul. Leve was preceded in death by her husband in 1990; one sister, Grace Solum; and a brother, Lloyd Flatten of Washington. Services were Friday at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran church in Spring Grove with burial in the Trinity Church cemetery. Pastor Zane Anderson officiated. Friends called Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
