Agnes Bjergum

Agnes Norma Bjergum, 85, of Spring Grove, died Tuesday, February 26, 2002, at her home. She was born August 13, 1916, in Highland Twp., Winnesheik Co., IA, to Ole and Henritta (Folkedahl) Droivold. She was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident. She was baptized and confirmed at Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Spring Grove and attended Sub-School District #5 in Winnesheik County. On June 7, 1938, she married Maurice T. Bjergum and he died on September 3, 2001.

Agnes worked at Mansfield and Control Data Factories in Spring Grove and also at the Pine Grove Rest Home in Spring Grove. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Agnes loved her home and family and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Clinton) Newgaard, Spring Grove, Mavis (Richard) Wright, Dallas, TX, and Sandra (Kenneth) Klein, Rochester; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Emmett Droivold, Decorah, IA.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Allen, four sisters, Minnie, Orletta, Luella and Doris, and three brothers, Bennie, Kenneth and Ronald.

Services were held Saturday, March 2, 11 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Zane Anderson officiated. Friends called Friday from 5-7 pm at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
