Earl Enstrom

Earl Gaylord Enstrom, 88, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at his home in Caledonia, Minnesota. He was born November 12, 1913, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Gustave and Clara (Stolson) Enstrom. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

He married Evelyn Muchow in 1935 and they later divorced. He married Orpha Mortinson who died in 1961. He married Jarla (Skadsem) Schmidt on October 19, 1963, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA.

Earl spent 4 1/2 years serving his country in World War II. After his discharge from the Army as T-Sgt, he worked for different people in the Fergus Falls area, several years in the steel mills in Gary, Indiana, and then 30 some years at Max Renner Well Co. in Hopkins, MN. Earl was a member of the VFW Post 3833 in Caledonia.

He is survived by his wife, Jarla of Caledonia; one step-daughter, Vicki Olson, Hopkins; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one nephew; and one grand-nephew.

In addition to Earlís second wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; and an infant brother, Anton Arvid; one step-son, Gary Schmidt; also many aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

Services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2 p.m. from Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, 518 W. Main St., Caledonia. Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery, Black Hammer, rural Spring Grove, at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 1 pm until the time of service.
