Helen Hazel Jorgenson, 98, died April 27, 2002, at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, MN. Helen was born in Hokah on November 27, 1903, to Lewis and Ruth (Orr) Vix. She went to Sacramento, CA, when she was 19 to be with her motherís family. Helen married Fred Johnson in February 1926. They were married 24 years. To this union, they had two children, Marjorie Ruth (Johnson) Flint and Charles Loyd Johnson. Fred died in 1949. She returned to Minnesota in 1950 to be near her family. She married Adolph Jorgenson in 1950, and they lived on a farm in Storey Valley, MN for 41 years. Adolph died in August 1991. Helen lived in the Valley View Nursing Home for the past eight years. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. She worked various jobs in the area including Belleís Cafe in Houston. She will be missed by all. Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie, and son-in-law, William Flint, of Sacramento, and daughter-in-law, Vi Johnson of Santa Ana, CA; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Winnifred Leslie, Winona, Lola Chalsm, La Crescent; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, son, Charles Loyd Johnson, six brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Services were at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 8, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial was in the Stone Church Cemetery.
