Nora Fruechte

Nora Fruechte, 101, formerly of Eitzen, MN, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at The Lutheran Home, Caledonia. She was born July 18, 1900, near Eitzen, to Otto and Minnie (Bisping) Bunge. Nora attended grade school in Eitzen and later attended the University of Agriculture in St. Paul. On October 12, 1927, she married Louis B. Fruechte at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Together they farmed in rural Eitzen for many years until they retired and moved into Eitzen in 1976. Nora and Louis enjoyed taking a number of bus trips to see various scenic places in the country. They really enjoyed their trips to the Black Hills and Florida. On June 27, 1983, Louis preceded Nora in death.

Nora continued to live in their home in Eitzen until 1996 when she moved into the Roseview Court in Caledonia. In 1999, Nora became a resident of The Lutheran Home. She was a life-long member of St. Lukeís United Church of Christ where she served on the Ladies Aid Organization.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Neva Bunge, Spring Grove and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Lora; a sister, Edna Schroeder; a brother, Elmer Bunge; and two nephews, Robert Bunge and Roger Schroeder.

Services were Friday, May 3, 11 am at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ with the Rev. Thomas Zuhlke officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends called at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of service. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia was in charge of arrangements.
