Holiday Dreams is theme of Christmas Parade

Itís never too early to think about Christmas, and of course to look forward to the annual Founders Days Christmas Parade.

This year, the theme for the parade is ìHoliday Dreams.î The parade begins at 7 p.m. from The Lutheran Home and will travel through the business district to the parking lot of Merchants Bank.

Parade organizer Jane Schiltz has announced that parade entries are now being sought. She would like to have as many entries as possible signed up by November 22. Please respond to Caledonia Founders Days, Box 424, Caledonia, MN. 55921.

Prior to the event, the Caledonia Rotary will be serving a soup and sandwich supper in the auditorium basement. Following the parade, there will be a sing-along in the auditorium with a visit from Santa Claus.

Last year, a committee of representatives from various community groups sold luminaries to raise money for the September 11 fund and to assist the Caledonia Fire Department in purchasing a thermal imaging camera. The parade committee decided to continue the practice of adding a charitable element to the festivities, and will collect items for the local food shelf at the auditorium.

Another Caledonia Christmas tradition, The Bluff and Valley Balloon Rally, will be held December 7 and 8 with lift-offs scheduled for both days.
