Wendi Vix

Wendi S. Vix, 31, of Sheldon, MN, died Friday, October 18, 2002, at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Wendi Sue Sather was born on June 12, 1971, in La Crosse to Richard and Marlene (Peterson) Sather. She was raised in rural Houston, MN and was baptized and confirmed at the Looney Valley Lutheran Church in rural Houston. Wendi was a 1990 graduate at Houston High School and graduated from WWTC in La Crosse in the Printing and Publishing Program. She was employed at the Winona Daily News in Winona as a graphic artist from 1993 until the time of her death. Wendi married Jason Vix on November 28, 1998, in Houston. She and Jason attended the Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Houston where Wendi was active in the church serving group.

In her younger years Wendi was a member of the Silver Creek Rustlers 4-H club. She enjoyed participating in the county fair with her photo exhibits. Her other interests included sewing, needle work, baking and crafts.
Wendi is survived by her husband Jason; parents, Richard and Marlene Sather of Houston; paternal grandparents, Allen and Marjorie Sather, Houston; two sisters, Tami (Taylor) Forsyth, Eden Prairie, and Heidi (Jerred) Roth, Caledonia; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kianna and her maternal grandparents.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Kris Fahey and the Rev. T. Wayne Larson officiating. She will be buried with her daughter, Kianna, at the Silver Creek Cemetery in rural Houston.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral Homes-Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
