Elder J. Stellick, 86, of Caledonia, died Friday, October 25, 2002, at Gundersen/Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse. He was born February 20, 1916, in Stoddard, WI, to Joseph and Anna (Schaldach) Stellick. Elder was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthewís Lutheran Church in Stoddard, WI. He attended Central High School in LaCrosse graduating in 1934. On February 14, 1942, he married Evelyn Ravnum at Hardies Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick, WI. Elder was employed at Iron Products, Auto Light, and Geo. C. Phillips. After moving to Hokah he became a salesman for the Watkins Co. for eight years. Elder and Evelyn then moved to Caledonia, where he owned and operated the Caledonia Dairy Service for 25 years until his retirement. Elder was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia where he served on the Church Council. He also participated in the Caledonia Senior Card Club and at the Harry J. Olson Senior Citizens Center in LaCrosse. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Caledonia; a son, Pastor John (Diane) Stellick of Crete, IL; a daughter, Mary (Patrick) Boutch of Caledonia; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Elder was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and four brothers. Services were held Monday, October 28, at 2 p.m. at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. Jon Wolff officiated with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends called at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
