Secretary of State announces availability
of on-line personal ballot

Minnesota Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer announced the availability of a personalized on-line listing of candidates appearing on the November 5 general election ballot. The listing includes candidates for federal-, state-, and county-level offices, specific to each voterís own address.
To access the personalized on-line ballot list, Minnesotans*
can go to www.sos.state.mn.us http://www.sos.state.mn.us, click on ìFind Your Polling Place,î enter their personal address information, and then click on the ìCandidates on Your Ballotî icon pictured here.
ìWe thought it was particularly important to provide this information this year, as redistricting just recently took place,î said Kiffmeyer. ìMany people are now situated in new districts and have different representation than in the past, and there are just lots of offices up for election and many candidates vying to fill those offices.î
ìI hear from people all the time-especially young people-that the number one deterrent to voting is a lack of information,î said Kiffmeyer. ìI hope this tool will enable people to get the information they need to feel fully knowledgeable and confident so that they will vote.î
