Richard L. Lange ěHurkî, 51, died Monday, October 21, 2002 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI, from suffering a heart attack. Rick was born October 30, 1950 in La Crosse to Leslie and Bernice (Bauer) Lange. On August 30, 1969, he married Linda Holte in Hokah. Rick was a lifelong resident of the Houston area where he had currently been a field supervisor for Interstate Roofing Co. He had also worked for Trane Company in La Crosse and also Peter Nelson and Sons Construction. Rick was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church in Houston. He was also a member of the AFL CIO Laborers 140 and the Hokah Lionís Club. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He will be lovingly remembered for being a great family man having a happy and generous personality who was a friend to everyone. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Tari Lange, Houston; grandson, Randi Lange; mother, Bernice Lange, Dakota; siblings, Jim (Lois) Lange, Houston, Rose Lange, Dakota, Ray Lange, Houston, Judy (Fred) Mueller, La Crescent, Donna (Stan) Johnson, La Crescent, Joan (Keith) Kor, Dakota, Kathy (Henry) Meuwissen, Faribault, Dan (Kathy) Lange, Houston, Deb (Shane) Trynowski, Dakota, and Mike (Patti) Lange, Houston; and numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie; son, Ronnie; and sister, Sharon Lange-Faran. Services were held Thursday, October 24, at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Houston at 10 a.m. with the Reverend William Kulas officiating. Burial was in the South Ridge United Methodist Church cemetery. Friends called at St. Maryís Catholic Church on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. where there was a Christian Prayer Service at 8 p.m. Friends also called one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
