Six candidates file for four seats on school board

Posted: 9/17/02

There will be six candidates vying for four open seats on the school board in the November 5 general election.

Bruce Bulman, Caledonia, Charlie Wray, Eitzen, and Chuck Schulte, Caledonia, have filed for the seats they now hold. Wray and Schulte have not faced a school board election before; both were appointed to fill the unexpired terms of former board members Peggy Derrick and Jack Hauser, who resigned late in 2001. Board member Cheryl Whitesitt did not refile.

Other candidates are Naomi Fruechte, Caledonia; Jean Meyer, Brownsville, and Mary Jane Frank, Caledonia.

In the city of Caledonia, the mayor and the two council members up for reelection face no opposition.

Mayor Robert Burns and council members Randi Vick and Paul Fisch will be on the ballot. The mayor serves a two-year term and the council members serve four.
