Wilfred Henselin

Wilfred Otto Henselin, 80, of Stewartville, MN, died Sunday, August 25, 2002, of natural causes at Chosen Valley Care Center, Chatfield, where he had resided the past year. He was born March 19, 1922, in Crooked Creek Township, Houston County, MN. He married Doris Hess on April 20, 1952, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Stewartville. She died November 4, 1995.

Wilfred grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools in Houston County. He moved to the Stewartville area in 1946. He and his wife farmed in Sumner Township, Fillmore County until 1986 when he retired due to ill health. He continued to live on the farm until entering the care center. He was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Stewartville.

Survivors include one son, Raymond (Juliana), Stewartville; three grandchildren; one brother, Gustav (Marjorie) Henselin, Rochester; three sisters, Ethel Bolduan, Doretta Schmidt, and Lillian (Robert) Bissen, all of Caledonia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, one brother and two sisters.

Services were held Thursday, August 29, 11 am, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church with Rev. Lyle Fritsch officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Stewartville. Friends called at the Griffin-Gray Funeral Home, Stewartville, from 5-8 on Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to services.
