Andrew (Andy) Schwartzhoff

Andy Schwartzhoff, 84, of Caledonia, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at The Lutheran Home, Caledonia. He was born January 13, 1919, in Dorchester, IA to Theodore and Mary (Schulte) Schwartzhoff. He married Betty Hill on April 4, 1970 in Caledonia.

Andy farmed until 1960 when Ma Cal Grove Golf Course was built. He was groundskeeper and sometimes manager at the golf course until 1987. He was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia.

Andy is survived by his wife Betty; two brothers, Robert (Carol) and Ray, both of Caledonia; three sisters, Florence Bissen, Caledonia, Regina (George) Tony, Fridley, and Rita (Paul) Welshons, Hastings; two sisters-in-law, Helen Schwartzhoff, La Crescent and Pat Hill, St. Cloud; brother-in-law, Robert (Mariana) Hill, Lincoln, NE; and 39 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bert, Reginald and Norbert and three sisters, Mary Ernster, Beradette North and Mildred Osbahr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 28, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Donald J. Schmitz will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends and family called from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, at McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, where a prayer service was said at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Monday. Memorials are preferred to St. Maryís Church Refurbishment Fund.
