James Skadson

James W. Skadson, 49, of rural Caledonia, MN, (Sheldon Township), died Friday, April 25, 2003, at St. Maryís Hospital, Rochester. He was born October 14, 1953 in Spring Grove to David and Lorraine (Roland) Skadson. Jim attended school in Houston, graduating from Houston High School in 1972. He then served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1974. On March 1, 1975, Jim married Debbie Vix in Houston and they later divorced. He was employed at various places in the Automotive industry including the Midland Co-op in Rushford, Car Quest in Caledonia and presently at Ellingson Motors in Caledonia. Jim enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include a son, David, Kasson; a daughter, Melissa, Houston; his fiancee, Patty Nelson, Caledonia and her children, Melissa, Michelle and Michael; his mother, Lorraine, Caledonia; seven sisters, Patsy Wiste, La Crosse, Cheryl (Paul) Palmquist, Caledonia, Audrey (Dave) Inglett, Mabel, Joyce Gengler, Onalaska, Kristie Skadson, Caledonia, Lori Skadson, Phoenix, AZ; and Lilly (Todd) Carrier, Houston; and 15 nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be Wednesday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia with Rev. Rolf Storlie officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
