Houston County Sheriffís Office nabs car stripperPosted: 4/29/03 by Andrew Miller A 41-year old Caledonia man is facing felony charges after allegedly stripping parts from a vehicle parked outside a residence along State Highway 44. The vehicle, belonging to Mike Mueller of Mankato, MN, had been stuck on the property at 11051 Hwy. 44 since Easter weekend. Mueller contacted the Houston County Sheriffís Office on April 26, reporting that, in addition to being vandalized, the car had been stripped of its carburetor, battery, and stereo. The Sheriffís Office was successful in tracking down a suspect, and charges of felony theft and criminal damage to property are pending. Mom, daughter injured in separate accidents A mother en route to the scene of an accident in which her daughter was involved got into an accident of her own. On April 26, Cathryn Fulton, Caledonia, was headed east on CSAH 249 to the site of her daughterís accident when she failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road. She was transported by Caledonia Ambulance to Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse and treated for ìunknown injuries.î Her daughter, Marvella Venable, sustained injuries in the course of her accident along CSAH 249, and was also transported to Franciscan Skemp for treatment. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
