Posted: 12/15/03 Alvina RaskAlvina K. Rask, 85, of Caledonia, died Friday, December 12, 2003 at The Caledonia Lutheran Home. She was born May 13, 1918 in Mabel, MN, to Carl and Anna (Haagenson) Rask. Alvina attended the Rask country school in Wilmington township. She worked as a waitress at Belvaís Cafe in Caledonia and the Caledonia Hotel. Alvina was then employed as a clerk at Renner Drug and then Caledonia Drug for many years until her retirement at the age of 82. She was a faithful member of Wilmington Lutheran Church where she served on WELCA. Alvina will always be remembered for her sweet soft spoken personality. She had a gift of remembering special events such as birthdays of her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Survivors include a brother, Raymond (Liela) Rask, La Crescent; two sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn Rask and Elna Rask, both of Caledonia; and several nieces and nephews. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Berdella Lien, Clarise Lien, Dolores Rask and Gladys Kuecker; and two brothers, Donald and Orville Rask. Services will be Wednesday, December 17, 11 a.m. at Wilmington Lutheran Church with Rev. Elizabeth Stempinski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
