Roland Treangen

Roland Obert Treangen, 83, of Spring Grove, died Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at The Lutheran Home in Caledonia, MN. He was born December 6, 1919, in rural Spring Grove to Ole ad Mildred (Opsahl) Treangen. He was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident and attended rural Houston County schools. He married Judy Crosby and she preceded him in death in 1987. He then married Florence Huebner on October 22, 1992.

Roland was a farmer until retiring and moving into Spring Grove. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Black Hammer, rural Spring Grove, former member of Our Saviors Church of Riceford where he was the church treasurer for 32 years, and also loved traveling and dancing.

Survivors include his wife Florence of Spring Grove; two step-sons, William (Marion) Strong, Joplin, MO, and Bruce (Dale) Crosby of Ohio; three step-daughters, Barbara (Michael) George, Dayton, Ohio, Wendy Kramer of New Mexico, and Rita (Jim) Henderson of Texas; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Orvel (Valborg) Treangen, Spring Grove; one sister, Rosie Olson; one sister-in-law, Irene Treangen; four nephews; and five nieces.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, Judy Crosby, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gilman.

Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church of Black Hammer with burial in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring Grove. Pastor Leonard Liptack will officiate. Friends may call Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
