Lois Reburn

Lois Reburn, 70, of New Albin, IA, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Lois was born in Houston County, MN, on February 17, 1933 to Martin and Ottille (Pottratz) Welper. She married John Reburn on June 2, 1953 at St. Josephís Church in New Albin.

Twice Lois worked at the Lansing Blumenthal Company, first was before her marriage to John. Following her marriage, she worked as a waitress at the Crest Supper Club in Caledonia for 18 years in addition to helping her husband farm. Most recently she was in the Shipping Department for 19 years at the Lansing Blumenthal Company. Lois was a member of St. Josephís Church and its Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband of New Albin; four children: Debra (Mike) Chiantello, Delafield, WI, Mike (Joan) Reburn, New Albin, Kim (Andy) Esser Sr, La Crescent, and Tom (Lynn) Reburn, New Albin; and 10 grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Leander Welper and two nephews, LaVerne and Merle Welper.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 22, at St. Josephís Catholic Church in New Albin with Rev. Robert Levenhagen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, February 21, from 4-8 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center. The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing is assisting the family with arrangements.
