Ruth P. Ranzenberger, 84, of Caledonia, died Sunday, February 23, 2003, at her home. She was born September 26, 1918, in Jefferson Township, MN, to Albert and Frieda (Krzebietke) Somermeyer. Ruth worked as a Deputy Clerk of Court in Houston County where she met Arlyn Ranzenberger as he applied for a driverís license. On March 27, 1949, they were married at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia. For 35 years Ruth enjoyed teaching children. She and her family lived in several states and most of these years were spent in Danville, IL. After Arlyn retired they moved to Fort Meyers, FL, where they lived for ten years. In November of 2000 Arlyn and Ruth moved back to Caledonia. Her last days were spent at her home under Hospice and family care. Survivors include her husband, Arlyn of Caledonia; two daughters, Ann Ranzenberger and Jane (Joe) Goldstein, Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Carl and Justin Somermeyer. Services will be Wednesday, February 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Caledonia with Rev. Tom Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends called at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
