Beer bandit strikes againPosted: 2/4/03 by Andrew Miller Robert Papenfuss of Houston contacted law enforcement authorities after his garage at 905 Cedar Street had been broken into the evening of Friday, January 24. The suspect entered through the garage window and removed eight beers from the refrigerator. This is the second instance of a break-in at Papenfussí garage in which entry was gained through the window and beer was taken. Police are on the lookout for a suspect with slurred speech and the distinct odor of malted hops. Arrest made after crash A Mabel man was placed under arrest for DWI on January 31 after a one-vehicle accident on State Hwy. 16. The vehicle had apparently careened off the road one mile south of La Crescent, according to Houston County authorities. No serious injuries were reported. Break-in suspect sent to detox Chief David Breault of Houston Police arrested a Houston male believed to have been attempting to forcefully enter a residence on West Spruce Street on February 2.
