Milton W. Utke, 85, of Caledonia, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at The Lutheran Home, Caledonia. He was born June 5, 1917, in Crooked Creek Township, MN, to Carl A. and Elizabeth (Heimerdinger) Utke. Milton farmed all his life in Freeburg until moving to Caledonia in 1979. He later did fencing jobs for area farmers. Milton was a gentle, soft spoken man with a great sense of humor, who will sadly be missed by his family. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Palma Utke of Caledonia; nieces and nephews: Patricia (Dennis) Ellefson, Winona, David (Sharon) Utke, Coon Rapids, Terry (Debra) Utke, New Albin, IA, Mari Beth (Jerry) Ross, Hugo, Ronald (Sandy) Utke, Brownsville, and Carleen (Ronald) Massat, Elgin, IL; and many other relatives and friends. Milton was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl G, Emmett and Raymond Utke; and two sisters, Marcella Utke and Arvilla Poulin; a niece, Rebecca Utke; a brother-in-law, Joseph Poulin; and a sister-in-law, Lydia Utke. Services will be Monday, February 10, 2 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, Crooked Creek Township with Rev. William Reese officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
