Herbert Dunn
Herbert F. Dunn (Herbie), 80, Caledonia, died on January 12, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse, WI. He was born in Saverton, MO, on February 18, 1922, to David and Odessa Schrum Dunn. He was in the CCC camp and served the US Army in World War II. He married Winifred Nestor on December 13, 1941. She preceded him in death in 1999.
He worked for the Houston County Highway Dept. and also worked for Marnach Distributing for many years. He drove truck for Ranzenberger Trucking and after retirement he worked for the City of Caledonia at the landfill.
He is survived by his children: Kathleen (Arvid) Nelson of Houston, James Dunn of Rochester, and Mary (Leo) Dolle of Caledonia; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son Michael, his parents, eight brothers and four sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, at St.Maryís Catholic Church. Father Donald J. Schmitz will officiate and burial with military rites will be in Calvary Cemetary.
Friends my call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at McCormick Funeral Home and also from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
