A seven-year old student from Caledonia Elementary was transported to a La Crosse hospital and treated for minor injuries after stepping in front of a moving vehicle after school on January 7.

Michaela Mullen was walking to her home on South Street just after 3 p.m. when, according to Caledonia Police, she ran out onto West Washington Street in front of a vehicle driven by Sheri Yohe of Caledonia. Yohe saw Mullen and attempted to stop; Caledonia authorities were uncertain if Mullenís minor injuries resulted from being struck by the vehicle or from falling to the asphalt after Yohe had stopped.

Treated and released from the hospital, Mullen attended school the following day.

Window smashing on East Washington

Ralph Tuck of East Washington Street in Caledonia contacted local authorities on December 29 to report that the rear window of his 1995 Crown Victoria had been smashed with a landscape rock. Caledonia Police have not named a suspect in the case; planters near Tuckís home did not appear to be missing any rocks, indicating the rock that damaged Tuckís window originated elsewhere.
