Suspect in custody after marijuana raidPosted: 1/21/03 by Andrew Miller A dozen bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a digital scale were seized by law enforcement authorities on January 17 after a search of a 43-year old Caledonia manís residence. The contraband was recovered following an investigation by Caledonia Police and the Houston County Sheriffís Office, which resulted in a search warrant being issued. The suspect is currently being held at the Houston County Jail; his name will be released when formal charges are filed. False alarm at CHS A middle school choir/band concert was halted temporarily on January 13 when fire alarms went off at Caledonia middle/high school. Fire Chief Chuck Gavin, who was attending the concert, determined that it was a false alarm before the fire trucks arrived. A kiln in the art room which overheated is believed to have triggered the alarm. Thefts reported to Sheriffís Office Travis Bjergum of Spring Grove contacted HCSO to report that a stereo was taken from his vehicle on January 15. Spring Grove Chief of Police Paul Folz is conducting an investigation. On January 17, a garage break-in was reported to authorities by Robert Papenfuss of Houston.
