Posted: 1/28/03

A delegation of women from Dubna, Russia visited June Kjome Place, a transitional housing program for formerly homeless battered women and children, on January 23.

The visit was an effort to gain a fuller understanding of domestic violence as a social phenomenon and as a personal struggle. The group heard JKP residents tell their stories, toured the apartments, and were given an overview of the role of Houston County Womenís Resources by Linda Riddle.

Pictured here, JKP staff member Carolynn Devine (right) shows the Russian delegation the living facilities at the residence.
