Caledonia man charged in raid

Charges have been filed against a Caledonia man after a January 17 raid of his home in which authorities seized over 220 grams of suspected marijuana and nearly $1500 in cash.

Steven Theobold has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance. Both charges carry with them a maximum penalty of five years in jail and/or $10,000 in fines.

A search warrant was executed on Theoboldís home by Caledonia Police and Houston County authorities the afternoon of January 17. When authorities entered the residence, Theobold was handcuffed, placed under arrest, and transported to the Houston County Jail while officers searched the home.

Over a dozen bags of suspected marijuana were recovered, and a representative sample of the substance analyzed by Caledonia Police tested positive for marijuana. A digital scale set to ìgramî mode was also seized.

Theobold was released from the Houston County Jail on January 21 after posting $5000 bail.

Taylor pleads guilty to DWI, collision with unattended vehicle

Mark Taylor, the man charged with damaging the northwest doorway of the former high school on November 24, pled guilty on January 23 to 4th degree DWI, collision with an unattended vehicle, and failure to notify an owner of damage to property.

The criminal damage to property charge, which bears a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine, was dismissed as part of the plea agreement, along with charges of driving after license revocation and refusing to submit to alcohol testing.

Taylor faces a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and/or a $1000 fine for each of the three charges to which he pled guilty.

Juvenile charged in connection with Fest Building theft

A Spring Grove juvenile has been charged in connection with a break-in incident at the Fest Building in Spring Grove in early January.

Local law enforcement authorities were notified on January 2 of signs of a forced entry into the building, from which alcohol and other items were taken. Following an investigation by Spring Grove Police, a juvenile suspect was named and charges of theft, criminal damage to property, and possession of alcohol by a minor have been filed.
