Helen Brisson

Helen M. Brisson, 86, of La Crosse, WI, died Friday, January 3, 2003, in her home. She was born July 25, 1916, to Thomas and Louise (Colgan) McGrath. She married A. Raymond Brisson on September 3, 1938. He preceded her in death June 1, 1962.

She is survived by six daughters; Anne Pietrek, Las Vegas, Jane (George) Schwabenbauer, Lorraine Miller and Elinor (Robert) Thorud, all of La Crosse, Louise (John) Durkee, Green Bay, and Barbara (Daniel) Hurley, Brownsville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ambrose (Bette) McGrath, Minneapolis.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 6, at St. James the Less Catholic Church, La Crosse, with Rev. Roger Scheckel officiating. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at Blaschke Funeral Homes-Nelson Chapel, La Crosse, with a rosary held at 6:15 p.m. Friends and family also called at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 am. until services at the church.
