Lila R. Haugen, 81, of Caledonia, died Monday, December 30, 2002, at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. She was born September 17, 1921 in Leroy, MN, to Elwin and Amanda (Linde) Crawford. Lila is a graduate of Spring Grove High School. She then attended Winona State University for two years graduating with a teaching degree. Lila taught country school in Houston County for a short time and then worked at the Co-op in Spring Grove. She then moved out of the area and spent most of her life as a homemaker. After raising her three children, Lila became employed with Allstate Insurance Company where she worked for several years. Upon retirement, she moved back to the Caledonia area. Survivors include three sons: Mark D. (Val), Hopkinton, MA, Michael D. (Jeanie), Loveland, OH, and Kim D. (Donna), Round Rock, TX; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Duane (Darlene) Crawford, Caledonia. Lila was preceded in death by her parents. Services were held Thursday, January 2, 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Caledonia, with Pastor Tony Fink officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends called at the United Methodist Church on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
