Dave Klinski to lead school boardPosted: 1/7/03 by Andrew Miller Dave Klinski was voted in as ISD #299 chairperson by fellow board members at a meeting on January 6, 2002. Klinski served as the boardís vice-chairperson in 2002, and steps in to replace 2002 chairperson Cheryl Whitesitt, who opted not to run for re-election to the school board in the November elections. In other officer elections, Suzanne Roesler was selected as vice-chairperson, Barb Hurley was voted in as clerk, Charlie Wray was elected treasurer, and Chuck Schulte became legislative liaison. Two school days allotted for elementary school move With completion of the remodeling at the new elementary school set for late February, board members and district officials anticipate that the elementary school, currently located at 311 West Main Street, will move to its new location sometime in March. Acting on the advisement of Elementary School Principal Connie Hesse, the board approved a motion granting that the elementary school be closed for two days at a time appropriate for the move. Board member compensation set Also at Monday nightís meeting, board members voted unanimously to keep compensation for board members at the same rate as last year. As such, a board member is to receive $35 for each regular, special, and committee meeting attended, and $75 per day for each out-of-district meeting attended. Board meeting dates set The board voted to maintain the current meeting schedule, in which the board holds two meetings per month, on the first and third Monday of each month, with the first Monday meeting to be cancelled if it is not needed.
